- Knowing how to interpret various technical data, such as pressure and temperature
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
- Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services
- Removing old HVAC systems
- Installing new HVAC systems
- Must be capable of diagnosing and explaining all problems and options to the customer
